The type of music I listen to most depends on the occasion and the purpose for having music on in the first place. For example, when I’m at work on a writing project, I have soft, background music–usually sounds of nature and gentle guitars providing a nice soundtrack to my creativity.
Other times, when I’m sitting on the screened-in porch at the cottage on a summer’s night, I’ll have George Strait and various other country artists performing on my iPod Nano. Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Martina McBride aren’t too far away, either.
On pontoon boat cruises in the golden sunshine, during the heart of summer, I might have a potpourri of music from Big Band era to Bubblegum. I like most genres, with the exception of Rap, Hip-Hop, or whatever other moniker that form goes by. It goes without saying, too, that I’m simply not gaga over Lady Gaga (sp?) Sorry, that parade passed me by long ago, and it isn’t about to come back this way anytime soon. I’ll leave that and all its various iterations to those who appreciate that sort of cacophony. As the good wife pointed out only last night, I’m getting old. Damned right! 🙂
